How much do football trials cost? Fees and a practical budget
Separate football trial participation fees, information purchases, programme costs and travel. Use a clear budget before paying or booking a trip.
TOUCHLINE Radar · Updated · Free player guide
There is no universal football trial price
The cost depends on the organiser and the type of session. A short club assessment, a showcase and a multi-day programme may charge differently. Some opportunities are free to attend; a published invitation can still leave you with travel costs. “Fee not stated” does not mean free.
Start by asking what each charge buys, when it is due and what happens if the session changes or your application is not approved. Compare written terms rather than a headline price alone.
Separate information from participation
On TOUCHLINE Radar, browsing trial previews and registering an account are free. €20 EUR buys one listing’s organiser, contact and application information, saved in the account. This is an information purchase, not the organiser’s trial fee or a reservation.
The organiser may charge for participation, accommodation or an ongoing programme. Review the publicly displayed organiser-fee field before buying information, and confirm the final cost with the organiser before committing.
Build a budget for the whole opportunity
Use separate lines for participation, programme charges, transport, accommodation, meals and local travel. Record which costs are required, which are optional and which have not yet been confirmed. Include an accompanying parent or guardian when relevant.
Record cancellation conditions next to each booking. A confirmed trial date does not make transport or accommodation refundable. Avoid booking non-refundable travel while your attendance or eligibility is unresolved.
Questions to ask before paying
Is my application approved for this session? What does the price include? Are there additional programme costs? What happens if the organiser cancels or I cannot attend? Which payment route belongs to the organiser? Keep the answers in writing.
Use the free preview to check fit first, then decide whether the organiser-information bundle is useful to your research. Payment for information, payment for participation and selection into a team are three separate things.
Find opportunities that fit
Browse free public previews, check age groups and dates, and unlock a listing’s organiser information only if you choose.
